The climate crisis is a fact, it is coming at us from all sides.Air mata means tears in Indonesian,mata air means source,air means water. Source of Tears is the libretto that refers to the rise in sea levels due to global warming. Messages, poems and thoughts are recited over the gamelan sounds in a ritual atmosphere: Poems by Tan Lioe Ie, Aad Luymes, Dick de Groot and commissioned poems by Mirthe Freese and Anna Lillioja.

Costs: voluntary donation
Vocal Journey is singing in a choir while you are introduced to the raga from India and vocal gamelan from Indonesia. Instead of notation, you learn the music by ear in relation to the tonic. In a singing circle we divide into groups and take turns singing accompaniment and improvising solo (for enthusiasts).
After this workshop you can register for a series of 6 sessions.

The short course at the Global Gongs has recently been created. You can join at any level. The composition to be studied includes easy parts that you can play as an absolute beginner and there are challenging parts for advanced gamelan players. For those who want to try it out, it is possible to come for a trial lesson on March 22.
